Marriage...
I
was thinking how come marriage is SO nice... Beyond comfort, fun,
companionship, friendship, love etc I think in many ways it is down to
the little things.
For example let's say there's a really nice piece of cake left in the fridge and I get home from work tired and hungry. My hubby will immediately offer me the food (even though he might really like it for himself).
He doesn't do this as a token gesture, out of duty, obligation or any expectation of reciprocity. He wouldn't expect me to refuse the food either. He would do it because he'd take greater pleasure in me enjoying the cake than if he ate it himself.
I think that this is what marriage is about. When you care more about the other person than about yourself.
